Sirocco is an energetic jazz & afro funk ensemble based in Rotterdam, where 10 musicians from different corners of europe - led by composer Ko Kunst and tenor saxophonist Max van Houtum - came together to blend a diverse range global styles and traditions resulting in a powerful rhythmic sound. Their lineup boasts four horns, a 5-man rhythm section and an MC that makes every corner of the dancefloor move. Being new on the scene, Sirocco has already made waves with a series of local performances that have turned many a dancefloor upside down and audiences spellbound. The compositions draw inspiration from different styles across the world, combining styles like jazz and funk with 70's afrobeat, reggae and afrocuban rhythms.
